Alex & David's December wedding started in Newtownabbey. The bride got ready in her parents house which was 5 minutes from the church which held the ceremony, Glenabbey Church..
While it wasn't a cold day, wind and little rain swirled a little but it was not to prepare us for the weather later that day.
It was a typical bridal house in the morning, with all the usual balance of excitement and nervousness.
The wedding ceremony in Glenabbey church was only the 2nd since its new build main auditorium. The light held beautifully inside despite the dark clouds outside.
It was a dash tot he car as the rain started to come down. It was an hour long journey to the Slieve Donard Hotel situated at the base of the Mountains of Mourne. Also set by the sea, the hotel is named after the highest peak in the Mournes.
Nothing could've prepared us for the winter weather in Newcastle. The wind was literally blowing people off their feet and the covers off the top of the lamp posts. The sea looked like on old painting of big waves and dark clouds. All that was missing was a boat struggling along. It did make a interesting background.
All the portraits and family pictures were taken inside. The conservatory room made an excellent area for the bridal party shots and some portraits of the Alex and David. We tried something a little different with the family photos to make them a little more interesting.
The evening was finished off with live band The Fabulous Al Bennett Band.
